David Hallett and the Nimbin Allstars

David Hallett was part of the Aquarius Festival in 1973 and still lives and works in Nimbin 40 years later.

He tells the story behind the Nimbin Allstars photograph......

It was 1973. A bunch of university students from Sydney decided to turn a small struggling dairy town into a Woodstock-style festival site. For 10 days young men and women flocked to Nimbin for the Aquarius Festival. David Hallett was one of them. He still lives and works in Nimbin 40 years later.

In a special series of ABC Open's "The Moment Behind the Photo" we are recording oral histories of the Aquarius Festival and its legacy.

David starts the ball rolling in the Nimbin video booth to tell the story of this photo.
