THE WHOLE WORLD IS WATCHING

A documentary produced to mobilise support for Aboriginal people who were organising peaceful protests at the Brisbane Commonwealth Games held between 30 September and 9 October 1982. The documentary explains the situation of Blacks in Australia with the main focus on Queensland. Aboriginal people saw the Brisbane Games as providing an opportunity to expose racism in Australia to the rest of the world. The video was "road showed" to Aboriginal communities between Brisbane and Cairns in the lead up to the Commonwealth Games. The idea was to help raise awareness and support for the peaceful protest being planned during the games when the world's attention would be focused on Brisbane.
