Ningla A-Na (Hungry For Our Land)

On 25 January 1972, the Australian Prime Minister, William McMahon, stated that his Government would never grant land rights to Indigenous Australians. In frustration four men pitched a beach umbrella with a sign saying "Aboriginal Embassy" on the lawns opposite Parliament House late on the night of January 26. So began the most significant act of dissent in Australian history. Ningla A-Na is the only film to focus on the tent embassy and is an historic document, integral to comprehension of the Aboriginal political struggle. The film presents an inside view of Aboriginal political life.

".. an extraordinary record of a turbulent time." Graeme Blundell, The Australian, June 2013

"The single most important film on the Aboriginal political struggle in the last 50 years", Gary Foley, Aboriginal historian, activist, leader, writer and actor.
