Coming out of the Rock Against Racism movement in the early 1980s, the Melbourne-based band, Scarlet, recorded "The Eddie Murray Song" in 1982.
The main credit goes to Janie Conway for writing, composing, arranging, and performing the song.
Janie was part of the Rock Against Racism team helping to organize a series of successful concerts in the Sydney Town Hall during the course of 1981.
